Join us in Los Angeles for an evening of experiencing the interplay of music, neuroscience, and art for the first time!
On March 26th, we will be tracking the cultivation of an expansive mind in real-time. By connecting certain performers and specific audience members to EEG caps, we will have the opportunity to view what is being awakened in their brains by live musical experiences. This event experience is an experiment and we are excited to invite you to participate in it for the first time!
There will be musical performances inside a floor-to-ceiling immersive art space. We’ll have 45 Avocado mattresses for you to lay on in order to enhance your listening and sensory experiences. A nourishing array of Ayurvedic foods explicitly picked to calm the nervous system will be served all night long by Farmfluence. Secular Sabbath is a welcoming community, so whether you choose to come solo or bring a friend, you are bound to meet other like-minded people throughout the night.
“Through my curiosity in studying the brain and its mechanics, I wanted to know how the brain reacts to different genres of music and how you can influence an entire crowd of people to feel a certain way based on the tonal arrangements presented to them. As I pondered this, I connected with a team of neuroscientists who helped me go deeper into this study by putting me inside an MRI machine equipped with a curated playlist I created from various genres to study musics’ potential to rewrite the subconscious mind. We discovered that if you can get your nervous system to a particular state of calmness, you open the potential to reach deeper parts of yourself without hesitation; which is the essence of creativity, creating an accelerated form of flow” - KROTCHY
