Ep. 6 | Tub Talks with Scout LaRue Willis: Musician
This week on the Tub Talks podcast, I soak within the creativity of artist Scout LaRue Willis. Scout just released her first musical album and went on her first tour. Growing into ourselves is at the heart of our conversation, an art that many spend decades trying to decode. Scout has found that while the journey is never easy, the path to self-acceptance and growth lies in pushing through the discomfort of looking at the tough parts of ourselves.
Growing up and thriving in a tight-knit family, Scout puts in the work to find her own unique voice which she discovers means settling into her own creative practices. From shifting how she processes fear or grief, or redefining her balance of the fiery masculine and divine feminine, Scout shares how she has started letting go of the stories and judgments that seep in from the outer world. Instead, she allows herself to redefine what peace and joy can mean within her life. We break down her journey of deepening friendships, refining safe boundaries to enhance growth, and the powerful energy behind her new album’s birth.
In her desire to deepen friendships and allow space for self-exploration to exist, she recently joined us at our Secular Sabbath Joshua Tree Acres retreat, where her mind could flow in an intimate group of new people at a time when she was craving adventure for the unknown. Coming off a retreat, and then hitting one group journey after another, Scout continues searching for new experiences or ways to shift consciousness, and connect more creatively with the people around her. For her album, she’s even co-creating unique scents for each track on her record, developing the sensorial effect music can have on memory. Writing and playing music acts as a major form of communication for Scout, whether in her most intimate relationships or for the general public. With this new release, she hopes to create a vessel of connection through her creations. So join us in the baths together as she shares her practices of surrendering to personal development, starts to build self-awareness around her soul’s turn-ons and turn-offs, and gets intimate with her opportunities for growth through relationships.
